Even before I got engaged, I found out about the Toasted Wedding Event and have been wanting to go. According to their website, they describe themselves as “a uniquely fresh wedding event for savvy, free-spirited, indie-minded couples seeking a more personal, more unique, and more whimsical experience while planning their nuptials. The antidote to traditional bridal shows, this event is something completely current, unusual, and crafty. Combining an eclectic array of independent artisans, modern  wedding ideas, handcrafted and eco-friendly goods and a party-like mood, Toasted is a refuge from traditional wedding planning.”

One of my favorite things about Toasted is that they provide an opportunity for local vendors to be highlighted. It didn’t hurt that the price is super reasonable ($8 per ticket) and included food and entertainment. Among my favorites were Greenpoint Fish and Lobster which served up oysters that were freshly shucked and Huckleberry Bar which made an “I’ll Have What She’s Having” cocktail that was made to order. Managed to get the fiance to come along too and he loved listening to the live music while biting into Delaney Barbecue.

Plenty of desserts were tasted. Photo booths with fun props and even gifs were around. A couple bridal stores and bridal gown designers showed their wares. Wreaths of rosemary were given away. Earrings were in goodie bags.

All in all, a really fun time to be had. Toasted has had events in NYC, Washington DC, San Francisco, and San Diego. Looks like they will be doing Boston soon. Recently saw a tweet that they were looking for suggestions on new places to go so definitely reach out to them if you want an event near you!
