If you follow my instagram account, you know I went to the Designer Loft sample sale this weekend. When someone’s offering wedding gowns discounted to $200, it’s hard to pass that up. Before this, I had always thought that a bridal sample sale would be like that Friend’s episode where Monica takes Phoebe and Rachel to a bridal sample sale and gives them whistles to blow when they find “the” dress. They end up fighting for the dress and it’s total chaos. I’ve also seen the Kleinfeld sales on Say Yes to the Dress where brides are waiting at like 5 in the morning.

I was a bit apprehensive of what this would be like but the deals seemed too good. I figured I would pop by and if there was a long line then I would pass. However, I dropped by an hour into the sale and was able to walk right in. The sale was located in the same building as Designer Loft’s salon but on a separate floor that looked more like a warehouse type space. When I arrived there were about 5 shoppers. 3 Brides, 1 mother of the bride and a woman shopping for an evening gown in the bridesmaid section. The sale was super calm. There were about 5 racks of dresses and the prices ranged from $400 -1000. There were also a few racks of evening and bridal gowns starting at $99. I didn’t really see anything that was $400 but most of the dresses didn’t have prices on them so you had to ask. I only saw a rack that was labeled as $1000. However, when I asked about prices of a couple dresses, they were all around $500-600. I found a beautiful Jenny Packham that was $500 and Aire Barcelona for $600. The prices also seems a little negotiable, especially if paying with cash.
