Sample Sale! Tracy Reese and Plenty for Tracy Reese

tr1 tr2

It’s a bit last minute (I’ve been on vacation) but I wanted to let everyone know about the Spring 2015 Tracy Reese stock and sample sale going on this week. It starts today from 12-6 for friends and family. They are asking that you bring the invitation with you to the sale if you’re going today. You can get on this list for the next time by signing up for the mailing list which is usually at the checkout counter. What’s really great about this sale is that they always have tons of samples which they put out throughout the week. This means that even if you don’t make the first day of the sale there will still be plenty of great samples for you to find even on the last day of the sale. No need to worry that it’ll be picked over. Two years ago I left the sale with a gorgeous embroidered wool winter coat for around $50! It was such a steal. That’s how great the prices are.

Here are the details: Continue reading

SoCal brides! Engagement shoot giveaway!

, , , , , , ,

I’ve recently been on the hunt for a photographer for the wedding. This is an incredibly important role to fill since once everything is said and done, that’s what you’re going to have to remind of the little moments throughout your speciaday. It’s also going to capture the moments you’ll miss, like your groom getting ready or reactions of your family and friends.

During my search, I stumbled upon Mirelle Carmichael. I love that her photos all have a soft ethereal and romantic feel to them. Head over to her site to take a look at her photos. If you’re outside of the Southern California area, no worries, she does travel (although I have yet to meet a photographer who doesn’t since they aren’t taking on the additional costs). If you are in the San Deigo or Orange County area, there’s a great engagement shoot giveaway going on right now. Not only do you get a one hour engagement photo shoot with Mirelle, Continue reading

10 bridesmaid dresses under $100 @ Asos

So when my fiance saw the post about LWDs at Asos for under $172, his response was, “is that supposed to be cheap?” Personally, I think $172 for a nontraditional wedding dress is a great price compared to dropping a few K. Anyhow, I thought I’d do a post on some great dresses at Asos that are under $100 and would be as bridesmaid dresses.

Billion Oyster Party. Music, food, drinks, what else do you need?

In case you couldn’t tell by my enjoyment of the Greenpoint Fish and Lobster Co’s oyster boat they had at the Toasted event, I like fresh oysters. Really, I just like great food and that’s what this event looks like it’s going to have.

Background. In 1609 when Henry Hudson entered New York Harbor there was about 220,000 acres or oyster reefs. By 1906 all the oysters had been consumed and the area was no longer good enough for oysters to regenerate. With the Clean Water Act the water quality  Continue reading

Baked NYC: Brides and Baubles and Cake Event!

, , ,

So Baked NYC was one of the lovely vendors at Toasted Wedding Event a couple weeks ago and it looks like they’re having an event at the end of the month for those getting married or planning an event that might need a nice cake/desserts, flowers, venues, or custom cake toppers. It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun and a nice way to spend part of an evening. I didn’t try their cakes at the Toasted event but I can vouch for the cookies and brownies. They were Continue reading

Toasted Wedding Event Brooklyn (Part 2)

, , , , , , , , , ,

In continuation of our Toasted Wedding Event experience, I just wanted to list out the vendors from the Toasted Wedding Event in Brooklyn a few weeks ago and highlight a few that my fiance and I really liked. Also included links to all the vendors incase anyone’s interested in finding out more. Although it was a wedding event, many of the vendors would be great to use of other events and parties you may be putting together.  Continue reading

Lovely Bridal Event in LA and NYC

, , , , ,

For brides out there who don’t have their dress yet, check out Lovely Bridal! They’ve got a great selection at a range of reasonable prices. Many of their dresses are soft and flow-y and have a very ethereal feel to them. Their consultants are super friendly and let you take pictures of the gowns which is nice because it’s important to know how you photography in a gown. I’ve had an instance or two where I thought a dress was great but the pictures didn’t really capture what I thought I was seeing and vice versa.

What’s fun about this salon is that they usually have little events/parties during their trunk shows with a little something extra. This May, the LA store is letting brides make flower crowns to wear while trying on dresses. NY is doing DIY dream catchers and mini-makeovers! Check out the details below and make your reservation soon!

10 Little White Dresses Under $172 at Asos

, ,

I was looking on Asos at their dress selection and noticed that they have a ton of really affordable LWDs that would make great wedding dresses for the nontraditional bride or a city hall wedding. They would also be great as rehearsal dinner dresses, bridal shower dresses, bachlorette weekend dresses, meeting up with a vendor dress … 😛 Why not take every opportunity to wear white when doing something for your wedding? I’ve picked out a few that I really love on their site.

Some notes on Asos:

  • There’s a Catwalk link on every item which shows a video of a model in your item walking down the runway. It allows you to see how the garment moves. This is such a great feature when you’re shopping online and can’t touch the items.
  • If you’re a student, make sure you sign up for 10% off every order you make.
  • Free shipping and returns on orders over $40. Free 2 day shipping when ordering over $140

Sale on Sale, Anthropologie

, ,

I love Anthropologie. If I could just take one of everything to fill up my closet and home, I would. Unfortunately, their prices don’t always agree with my wallet. That’s why I love it when their is a sale on top of their sale items. It’s like getting an even better deal on top of a deal. Anyhow, they’re having a Mother’s Day weekend sale starting today where you can take an extra 20% off all items. I went straight to the sale section to see what deals are to be had. Bellow are a few that have got me reaching for my wallet.

How cute is this Pina Lace dress? It’s called Pina because when you look closer there’s a pineapple pattern on the lace. I’d pair it with some wedge sandals and a jean jacket for a perfect summer outfit. After the extra 20% off it,s only $79.96. That’s almost 60% off the original price.

Pina Lace dress. Originally $188 now 20% off of $99.95

This Suraja Dress is perfect for summer. It seems like something that would be easy to slip on while traveling this summer.

Suraja Dress by Holding Horses Originally $138, now 20% off 79.95

I saw these orbed glass tableware items in store awhile ago and didn’t really feel like I needed them. With the sale though, maybe my want for them will take precedence over need. They are beautiful and delicate hand blown glass items.

Orbed Glass Tableware Originally $14-16, now 20% off of $7.95 and $9.95

Finally, loving this blush colored beaded belt. It think it might even work with the Pina dress up above! At more than half off it’s hard to say no to.

Arenaria Wrap Belt Originally $58, now 20% off $29.95

The sale lasts this weekend but I’d head over there sooner than later before these deals are gone. Let me know what you end up getting. I’d love to live vicariously through you. Happy Shopping!
